Introducing: Masseria Surani
The Masseria Surani project was born in 2014, when the Tommasi family chose Manduria to give shape to a vision devoted to Puglia and its extraordinary winemaking potential. Since then, the journey has grown, and today it unfolds across three distinct places: Manduria, Lizzano and Guagnano.
Our philosophy
For us, every wine is born from balance: between quality and place, between tradition and a contemporary outlook. At Masseria Surani, this vision takes shape through the enhancement of Puglia’s most representative native grape varieties, such as Primitivo, Negroamaro and Fiano. The aim is to give voice to the land through wines that are measured, expressive and deeply connected to the nature of each vineyard.
An evolving project
The story of Masseria Surani begins with Tenuta Espéra, in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOC appellation. Over time, it has been enriched by Tenuta Eméra in Lizzano and Cantina Moros in Guagnano, shaping an Apulian mosaic that reveals three outstanding terroirs and different expressions of Salento.
Vineyards and varieties
The Masseria Surani vineyards are trained using a narrow Guyot system, with high planting density and low yields. Alongside Primitivo, the leading variety of the project, Negroamaro, Fiano and Cabernet Sauvignon also find their place, interpreted with respect for the terroirs and the characteristics of each parcel, to create wines that are expressive and deeply rooted in the land.
Today, this journey continues beyond the wines, in the places where they take shape. Among estates, glasses and landscapes, Masseria Surani invites you to discover Puglia through its rhythms, its light and its flavours.
